Normally, I am a prolific reader. Reading is my favorite way to spend time, and I can read fairly quickly, so I go through books pretty fast. And, for the most part, I have no problem finding reading material--there are so many great books being written all the time!
Every so often, however, I find myself in a slump. My motivation to read dies for awhile, and I abandon my favorite past time. When this happens, I rely on fellow readers to recommend a really great book. It almost always gets me reading again.
I am currently in a slump. So I appeal to you: RECOMMEND SOMETHING. I'm dying here....
As a tribute to this, my 100th post, I offer a quiz:
Can you name the character in the picture?
As usual, the winner will be awarded no prize whatsoever.
Okay, you can have my admiration.

That is Captain OG Readmore!!!
HOORAY!!!
Wasn't he on on Saturday mornings???
Yes, back when they actually had Saturday morning cartoons, Captain O.G. Readmore encouraged us to read, read, read!
I'm currently reading Joan of Arc by Mark Twain (yeah, I was surprised to find out he wrote a book about Joan of Arc too. He considered it his best book) It's historical fiction and a pretty good read. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak was also pretty good.
I just read The Proper Care & Feeding of Husbands by Dr. Laura. It's so GREAT! And I like A Train to Potevka by Mike Ramsdell. Oh, and Fablehaven by Brandon Mull is good too.
Thanks for the recommendations! I'll check them out...
My friend Sarah is very into Janet Evonavich. I think it may be beach reading. I have not tried it myself as of yet.
I read the Hunger Games and Catching Fire this summer, those were really good. And I'm about to start Dan Browns new book The Lost Symbol, I hear that is really good.
Bonnie, I read the Hunger Games books! They were awesome! I heard a movie is in the making....
For funny chic lit, check out anything by Sophie Kinsella. My favorite was Twenties Girl.
